/ Sunborn
(CFA) Abyssinians were founded on two basic premises, in 1990.
The first was R.A. (renal amyloidosis) clean pedigrees, the second: Ruddy/Red
only lines - no dilute. We were fortunate to be able to combine a
very strong line from Canada with an old established California line, to
begin our Journey. |
 |
| Renal
Amyloidosis is a genetic kidney disease that plagues Abyssinian lines the
world over, and a three generation pedigree free of RA cats or producers
is considered clean. When we started, we had five-seven generations
clean. With the recently discovered test for PK deficiency, another
genetic disorder that causes anemia, we are now PK testing our Breeders
too, in the quest of producing healthy, as well as beautiful companions. |

| "Charlie"
pictured on right - is a stunningly beautiful, typey Aby alter bred here.
He is a loving pet, described as a "rascal", who greets his owner (Dr.
Emmett King of Billings, Montana) at the door.

Pictured
at left, "Cairo" is another home-bred fabulous alter. Pictured here
as an older cat, he exudes type and grace, all the while ruling the house,
which is his "job", as a loving pet. He "owns" the Lemelin Family
of Great Falls, Montana.

| Being
a small Breeder means we are able to give individual attention to each
cat and kitten. A limited number of breeding animals have been placed
in small Programs, and all shown have been successful - in both TICA and
CFA shows. |
|
 |
| "Preservation"
breedings, RA clean pedigrees, highest quality meat and dry food diet,
makes for healthy, long-lived Abys here. All of our pet kittens are
altered prior to placement, and all cats are placed under contract. |
